Fallas Family Vision + Oakley

If you have been to visit Dr. Fallas at Fallas Family Vision, then you know why he is the best eye doc in Henry County. As a good idea for marketing his company, he likes to change up the ads he runs, which keeps things interesting. This time around, Dr. Fallas wanted to showcase the availability of Oakley Livestrong Jawbones, as well as other Oakley products, at his location. Couple that with the fact that he uses them when out biking, and you get the following session we shot recently (in the lobby of his office!).

The Animal Within

Every now and then we break out and shoot something a little different than what our normal photography outing would entail. This shoot is a great example of that and we weren’t sure if it would have been possible to enjoy it more than we did. A special thanks to Dina Marie for her amazing make-up and to Avnah Couture for the styling. Here are some of our favorites from the shoot.

The Huggins Family Session

The Huggins family were real troopers. These photos were taken back in November and we are guessing that it felt like 2 degrees outside. But you would never know it to look at them. They did great and were a real blast to shoot. Here are some samples from our time with them.

Jennifer + TJ: Hitched!

It was fun shooting Jennifer & TJ’s engagement session at the Montaluce Winery & Estates. And after that brief time taking some photos, it was obvious that the wedding was going to be a big party. The stage was a beautiful beach home in South Carolina, a home which we could have easily just moved right into and stayed permanently! We are thankful to have been able to share yet another special day with friends. We just wish we could have tagged along on the honeymoon to see Italy too!

Introducing Jake & Meredith

When I first met Meredith, one thing was blatantly obvious… Her son Jake is her world. When I first met Jake, one thing was blatantly obvious… he was not that into taking pictures! Ha! But he warmed up and managed to show off his infectious smile and great personality long enough to snag a few great shots of him and mom! Thanks for letting us sharing the afternoon of laughs with us.

Rachel & Russ Are Having a Baby!

Rachel & Russ will always hold a special place in our heart. Having known this awesome couple for some time, it is easy to see what wonderful people they are. The kind of folks that are just easy to be around. But they have had a void in their life for some time as they have tried to have a child. They have gone beyond trying. They have been tested, and tested, and tested over and over again. So after 6 long years of trying, baby Lillyan will be here and they will officially be a part of the “No Sleep Club”! Congrats on your little blessing guys and for letting us share such an amazing part of your life.

Pinups for Pitbulls

Recently, JayMar Photography had the pleasure of working with Pinups for Pitbulls for a calendar shoot. Pinups for Pitbulls is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which focuses on pitbull awareness efforts. Actually, Pinups for Pitbulls state it much better on their website:

“Through creating an annual pinup calendar, selling other merchandise, and throwing events, Pinups for Pitbulls, Inc. raises money and awareness to benefit the health and welfare of this largely misunderstood breed. The goal is to restore the former image of the American Pit Bull Terrior as a war hero, helper, nanny, companion and friend. Pinups for Pitbulls also seeks to ban BSL (breed specific legislation), and to lobby against dog fighting, puppy mills, and cruelty to pit bulls.”

So we knew this would be a great project to get involved with. However, the icing on the cake was again working with the fabulous Ashley Croft. And yes, anytime you say her name you are required to insert the word fabulous in front of it. Ashley is great to work with and knew exactly what she wanted out of the shot, which makes our jobs as photographers much, much easier.

Our assignment was to recreate a vintage pinup shot while also incorporating a pitbull, obviously. Our image to recreate, was a 1962 painting by Gil Elvgren titled “Hold Everything” (Sometimes referred to as “Skirting the Issue”). Pets can be tricky as they can be unpredictable, but Tiger was a total professional. With some treats and fresh water on hand, he did not bark, run, or misbehave, merely posed and smiled. Worried about the pending rain which was on the horizon and some tight schedules, everyone worked quickly to get the job done and overall we were extremely pleased with the results.

To give you an idea of how we worked for this scene, here is a candid behind the scenes look at our setup, which was in front of a local church (who was kind enough to let us run 40’ of extension cord into through their sanctuary to power our large floor fan).

Despite not being selected for the calendar, we were honored to have been a participant. The 2010 Pinups for Pitbulls calendars can be purchased online and all of the wonderful submissions can be viewed here.
