So you found this site while searching the web, a friend recommended it, saw an ad, etc.  Now that you have dug a little deeper into our work you need a few more questions answered. Below is a frequently asked question list that we have prepared and will continue to update should the need arise.  If you catch anything that we missed, please feel free to drop us a line in the comments.

What cameras do you use?
We shoot with several different models of Nikon digital cameras.  We each have a back-up camera which accompanies us on all of our shoots.

How long have you two been doing this?
JayMar Photography is a relatively new venture, being founded in 2009.  While it is still in its infancy, the experience that drives the company is not.  Mark Howard has over 15 years experience and Jason Morrison has over 5 years experience.

What payment options do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, check, money orders, PayPal, and of course, good ole cash.

Do you travel?
Of course.  We love new locations and stretching our creative legs.  Challenge us!

Do you both shoot everything together?
That is our preference.  The more we shoot together the more we have learned about each other, making it quicker and more efficient for everyone involved.

Do you double-book a day?
On occasion we have double-booked events on a single day.  While this is typically not the norm, we also are super lucky to have a great network of photographer friends and associates that we work with who fill in when needed.

What are your prices?
Our current pricing information can be found here.

Can I create a custom wedding package?
You can!  We totally get that every wedding is different and that no matter how much we try, no package we create will cover every single unique bride’s needs.  We can send you our pricing information and then sit down with you to prepare a custom proposal based on your own special day.

How many hours before and after the actual ceremony do you cover?
This really depends on the amount of coverage you require.  Our preference to cover the entire event, including getting ready and walking out the door on your way to the honeymoon. However, if you do not want or need the extra coverage, then we can work with that as well.

The church I am getting married in does not allow flash to be used during the ceremony.  Is that a problem?
Not a problem at all.

Do I get a disc of my images that I can take to have prints made on my own?
By default, the disc does not come with each shoot.  You may however purchase the disc which contains all of the processed, hi-res images from the shoot.  It also contains a signed release which allows you to print the images at the vendor of your choice.

What kind of albums do you offer?
For weddings, we offer Kingston flush-mount albums with a wide array of options, ranging from plain leather covers to brushed metal with a photo imprint.  For high school seniors, maternity, and model sessions we offer a custom layflat album with optional pearl interior finish.

I have family and friends that live out of town, but will want to order prints, can they do this?
All of your proofs will be available online for 6 months.  They will be available in a password protected gallery that you can easily share with friends and family.  Should they wish to place an order, all they need to do is contact us with the specifics.

How long does it take to get my proofs back?
This typically depends on the shoot.  For a wedding, you can expect at least 3 weeks before seeing the proofs.  For other sessions, it could be less.

When I get my proofs, will I get black and white images as well?
Everything we shoot is color.  When processing and retouching the images, we also go through the photos and when appropriate, provided black and white as well as other creatively treated images. Should you see an image that you would like in black and white, we can make that happen, too.

I heard you have a newsletter.  Can I subscribe?
Sure thing.  Just email info[at]jaymarphotography.com with the word subscribe in the subject line. The newsletter is typically once a month and features the latest company news, specials, and events that we are attending.

Are you all into the whole social networking thing?
Most certainly!  You can find us on Facebook as well as Twitter.
